It’s A Thing- s03e06 – Butter Coffee

Polson's_Coffee_&_ButterWe’re not going to lie. It sounds crazy. But butter in your coffee is not only a thing, it’s an old thing that’s getting big again and it’s bulletproof. Don’t judge it until you’ve tried it.

Hey guys just an FYI if you try the MCT oil go easy at first. About a half tablespoon. Your liver needs to make an enzyme to assimilate the stuff and until you are used to it, you can get the runs. That said MCTs do awesome things for cognittive function, especially in individuals who may have issues with insulin resistance. The originator is a guy named Dave Asprey, he brands himself “bulletproof exec” .

As to why butter and not milk on Paleo, butter generally doesnt have the lactose and casein that some people are sensitive to. They are both gray area foods in Paleo, but far fewer people seem reactive to butter than milk.

Just wanted to add that a blender makes all the difference the difference between oily nastiness versus yummy coffee with nice foam on top.

People on a Low Carb, High Fat lifestyle use Bulletproof coffee for added fat and calories without a huge meal. LCHF is somewhere between 70-80% fat, 15-20% protein and 5-10% carbohydrates. With that percentage of fat in the diet, bulletproof coffee becomes a great way to add the fat without overeating way too much.
